Ether’s number was concentrated in one fund
BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust accounted for roughly $299 million, or more than nine-tenths of the weekly Ether outflow. That concentration matters: it does not mean every Ether product experienced the same pressure, but it does show that the largest fund remained an important source of selling.

Ether ETFs had lost about $542 million a week earlier, so the latest $320 million decline represents a slower pace. The direction is still negative, but describing it as an accelerating exit would be inaccurate.
Bitcoin flows improved faster than Ether flows
Bitcoin funds moved from roughly $679 million of withdrawals in the previous week to about $228 million. The category still finished in the red despite a positive session during the week, showing that one inflow day was not enough to reverse the broader pattern.
Fund-level data also changed. Selling rotated between large products rather than coming from one source every day. Investors should therefore separate the total category number from the behaviour of an individual issuer.
| US spot ETF group | Net flow, Oct. 12-16 |
|---|---|
| 비트코인 | About -$228.4 million |
| 이더 | About -$320.1 million |
| Combined | About -$548.5 million |
| Largest Ether contributor | BlackRock ETHA: about -$299 million |

Flows measure demand, not a guaranteed price direction
ETF withdrawals can add pressure because authorised participants redeem shares and adjust underlying exposure, but price also responds to spot trading, derivatives, liquidity and macroeconomic news. A negative week is evidence of weaker institutional demand, not a promise that the next candle must fall.
The next useful signal is persistence. If outflows continue while trading volume remains high, the market is actively reducing exposure. If the numbers flatten and price holds support, the same data may indicate that selling is being absorbed. Daily figures should be read as a sequence, not isolated headlines.
