About Dogecoin
Dogecoin works as an open source digital currency that people send directly to each other for quick payments online. It was created as a joke payment system and grew into the first meme coin. It is a fork of LuckyCoin, which was itself a fork of Litecoin.
DOGE is the native coin of its own Doge blockchain and is used for tipping and charitable donations. The network confirms transactions with proof of work, where computers compete to validate blocks, and it uses the Scrypt algorithm, with a new block every 60 seconds. A volunteer group spread out across the community, together with the Dogecoin Foundation, handles the running of Dogecoin.
