All 36 platforms for the European Union, ranked
Scores out of 10 from seven published criteria. A dash means the value is not verified yet.
Crypto regulation and how we rank in the European Union
Since 30 December 2024 the EU Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA, Regulation (EU) 2023/1114) requires every crypto-asset service provider (CASP) to be authorised by a national competent authority, and one authorisation can be passported to the other EEA states. National VASP registrations could only be used during transitional periods that ended by 1 July 2026 at the latest (the Netherlands 30 June 2025, Germany 30 December 2025). ESMA publishes authorised CASPs in its interim MiCA register, and a separate list of non-compliant firms. Buying, holding and trading crypto is legal for EU residents.
Each platform gets a score from 0 to 10. Access and the local licence carry the most weight; security, fees, the range of coins and products, the number of ratings of its app in the local App Store and the quality of the data make up the rest. Only official sources are used: the platforms' own terms and the regulator's public register. A dash means we could not verify a value.

Popular exchanges not available in the European Union
These platforms exclude residents of the European Union in their own terms, or the regulator has barred them. They are listed for reference only, without ranks or sign-up links. Using a VPN or false details to get around a restriction breaks the platform's terms and can end with a frozen account.
