Crypto regulation and how we rank in Serbia
Serbia regulates crypto under the Law on Digital Assets (Official Gazette RS 153/2020), applied since 29 June 2021. Providing virtual-currency services requires a National Bank of Serbia licence, and digital-token services need a Securities Commission licence; unlicensed service is a criminal offence, as the NBS warned on 19 February 2025. Buying and holding crypto is legal for residents. As of 6 October 2026 the NBS register lists three licensed providers: MCM 965 (ECD), Vescon (Crypto12) and AX Crypto.
Each platform gets a score from 0 to 10. Access and the local licence carry the most weight; security, fees, the range of coins and products, the number of ratings of its app in the local App Store and the quality of the data make up the rest. Only official sources are used: the platforms' own terms and the regulator's public register. A dash means we could not verify a value.
