Diversification and allocation

The arithmetic behind the table above.

Current weight

weight = asset value ÷ portfolio value

Each asset’s share of the total value you entered.

Target value

target = portfolio value × target %

What each position would be worth at your chosen weight.

Buy or sell

trade = target − current

The difference between target and current value. The tool never suggests weights — it only works out the trades for yours.

About this page

Crypto portfolio allocation means deciding what share of your money goes into each coin, then trading to keep those shares. This calculator has two modes. Rebalance holdings takes what you hold now and your target weights, and returns the buys and sells that close the gap, in dollars and in coins. Split a budget divides one amount across the coins you pick.

The arithmetic is simple. Current weight is an asset's value divided by the portfolio value, target value is the portfolio value times the target share, and the trade is target minus current. A donut compares current and target weights, and turnover shows what share of the portfolio would change hands. Targets must add up to 100%, and a button rescales them if they do not.

Assets come from a live list of the largest coins, stablecoins included, with up to 20 in one portfolio. Prices come from Binance, OKX and Coinbase, with DefiLlama for coins they do not list, and refresh every 5 minutes. The tool never suggests weights and leaves trading fees out; the allocation itself is your decision.

Questions

Short answers to what people ask most.

Rebalance holdings compares what you hold with your target shares and returns the buys or sells that close the gap, in dollars and in coins. Split a budget applies the same shares to one amount.

No. It works out the trades for the weights you enter and never recommends a mix of coins.

Weights have to add up to 100%. A button rescales entries that come to more or less than that.

Any coin from a live list of the largest coins, stablecoins included, up to 20 assets in one portfolio.

The share of the portfolio's value that would be bought or sold to reach the targets. A 10% turnover on a $10,000 portfolio means $1,000 of trades.

No. Trades are shown at current prices before fees, so the amounts you end up with will be slightly lower after exchange costs.
