About this page
This is a list of cryptocurrency exchanges by the numbers: trading volume, markets, fees and the reserves each venue publishes. It covers centralized exchanges such as Binance, OKX, Coinbase and Bybit, and decentralized ones such as Hyperliquid. Filter by type, search by name or country, and sort by volume, markets or derivatives volume to see the largest cryptocurrency exchanges by trading volume.
Volume splits into spot, the trading of coins themselves, and derivatives, meaning futures and perpetual swaps, which make up most of the activity. Proof of reserves is the set of wallet balances an exchange publishes: 16 of the profiled venues publish them, worth $282.89 billion in total. Reserves show the assets held on a given day, not what an exchange owes its customers.
This directory does not score exchanges, and many venues listed here do not serve US residents. For platforms open to Americans, see the ranking of the best crypto exchanges in the USA. Markets, volume and reserves come from the exchanges' own APIs, DefiLlama and GeckoTerminal, refreshed every hour, and CoinGecko supplies the total count of exchanges.
