About Dash
Dash (DASH) is a cryptocurrency created in 2014. Its code is open source, and it began as a fork of the Bitcoin protocol. Dash says it was built as a decentralized payment solution for everyday use, and DASH is the native coin of its own blockchain, used for payments.
Dash uses a two-tier network with incentivized nodes called Masternodes and decentralized project governance. That structure makes Dash a decentralized autonomous organization, and a portion of its users take part in running the project.
