About Ethena
Ethena is a decentralized finance protocol that issues USDe, a synthetic dollar backed by crypto assets and short futures positions. ENA is the protocol's governance token, giving holders a vote on how Ethena is run.
Staking ENA is how holders take part: depositing ENA into a staking contract returns sENA, a staked version of the token. sENA earns the rewards the protocol generates, which build up in the staking contract, and withdrawing the ENA underlying sENA takes a cooldown period first. ENA holders govern the composition of USDe's backing, new backing strategies, how protocol revenue is allocated, and the Risk Committee.
