About Qtum

Built by a team that includes members from the Bitcoin and Ethereum communities, with Patrick Dai as co-founder, Qtum is a platform for smart contracts and for transferring value, run by its community without a central owner and with code anyone can inspect. QTUM is the native coin of its own blockchain.

QTUM rewards node operators for validating transactions. Qtum records transactions in Bitcoin's style, tracking each coin as an output that has not yet been spent. Community participants vote through DGP, a governance system, to change certain network parameters. A new block is added about every 2 minutes.
