How to verify a BNB Chain transaction on BscScan
You verify a BNB Chain transaction on BscScan by pasting its transaction hash, then checking the status, addresses, amounts and token transfers.

On this page
- Get the transaction hash from your wallet or exchange first.
- Hashes do not usually carry over between networks.
- Pending can still confirm later or be dropped.
BNB Chain is a blockchain network, and its native token, BNB, pays transaction fees. Validators include transactions in blocks and confirm them, so the record becomes public. Every transaction gets its own hash, and that hash is what you look up.
What do you need before you start?
Start with the transaction hash from your wallet or exchange. Copy it rather than retyping it. The network matters too: BNB Smart Chain is the main network, while opBNB, launched in 2023, is separate with its own explorer. A hash from one network usually does not appear on another.
How do you verify a BNB Chain transaction?
BscScan is the block explorer for BNB Smart Chain, and it reads public data. The hash is all you need.
- 1Open BscScanLoad the explorer in a browser. You do not sign in or connect a wallet.
- 2Paste the hashPaste the full hash into the search bar and press enter. The transaction page opens.
- 3Check the networkThe page should name BNB Smart Chain. If it names another chain, open that network's explorer instead.
- 4Read the statusSuccess means the transaction was confirmed in a block. Pending can still confirm or be dropped. Failed means it did not complete.
- 5Compare the detailsCheck the From and To addresses and the amount against your records. The token transfers section lists each token moved.
What should you do after verifying?
Save the hash and the page link with your records, since an exchange or a tax preparer may ask for them. If funds went to the wrong address, the explorer cannot reverse the transaction or get them back.
Frequently asked questions
It may be too new, or the sender has not broadcast it yet. Check that the explorer matches the network and paste the full hash again.
Yes. Explorers read public data, so the hash is enough.
The transaction reached a block but did not complete, usually because it ran out of gas. The gas fee is still charged.
Open the transaction page and read the Token Transfers section. A token move often shows zero BNB in the main value field.
