Short answer

To send tokens on Arbitrum One, use a wallet on that network and hold ETH there for gas. Enter the recipient's Arbitrum One address, confirm the network, sign, then check Arbiscan.

Sending tokens on Arbitrum One works like an Ethereum transfer, but your wallet and token must be on that network. Confirm the address first; a signed transfer is hard to undo.

What do you need before sending?

You need a wallet that supports Arbitrum One and ETH on Arbitrum One for gas; ETH on Ethereum mainnet will not cover the fee. The token must also be on Arbitrum One. If it is elsewhere, bridge it or withdraw it to Arbitrum One first.

Before you send

  • Your wallet is on Arbitrum One.
  • You have the recipient's address.
  • You checked the token contract.

How do you send tokens on Arbitrum One?

Open your wallet and switch to Arbitrum One before you select the token.

  1. 1Open your walletMake sure the network selector says Arbitrum One.
  2. 2Verify the tokenConfirm the token's Arbitrum One contract address matches your asset.
  3. 3Enter recipient addressPaste an Arbitrum One address. If it is a contract, check that it can accept the token, or funds can lock.
  4. 4Check network and addressConfirm the wallet is on Arbitrum One and the address is right.
  5. 5Enter amount and feeType the amount and review the gas fee. Keep enough ETH for it.
  6. 6Confirm and signReview the details once more, then approve. This step is irreversible.

What should you do after sending?

Your wallet shows the transfer as pending until Arbitrum One includes it. Copy the hash and look it up on Arbiscan. The IRS treats crypto as property, so save the date, amount, addresses, fee, and hash.

After you send

  • Confirm the recipient received the tokens.
  • Keep your wallet software updated.
  • Do not share your seed phrase.

Frequently asked questions

They may not appear if the receiving platform does not support that network, and recovery is usually not guaranteed.

Bridge ETH from Ethereum mainnet to Arbitrum One, or withdraw ETH from an exchange that supports Arbitrum One.

Usually not after you sign and broadcast it. Some wallets let you replace it with a new transaction, but support cannot cancel a confirmed transfer.

Only if your tokens are on Ethereum mainnet or another network. If they already sit on Arbitrum One, you can send them directly.
