Gateway serves a different purpose from CCTP
CCTP moves native USDC between chains by burning on one network and minting on another. Gateway instead keeps an asset balance that can be drawn on demand across supported networks. It is designed for businesses that need liquidity in several places without predicting the exact destination in advance.

cirBTC remains backed one-to-one by bitcoin. EURC remains a euro-denominated stablecoin. Gateway does not combine their value with USDC; each asset has its own balance and supported network list.
Fees depend on the asset and route
At launch, cirBTC and EURC transfers involving Arc have a zero Gateway fee. Routes outside Arc are charged one basis point, or 0.01 per cent. USDC carries a 0.5-basis-point fee, equal to 0.005 per cent. Network gas costs can still apply.
Circle says a deposit that has already reached finality can become available on another supported chain in under 500 milliseconds. That figure does not include the time needed for the original deposit to become final, so it should not be presented as end-to-end transaction speed.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Gateway volume | More than $10 billion |
| cirBTC and EURC fee through Arc | 0% Gateway fee at launch |
| cirBTC and EURC outside Arc | 1 bp / 0.01% |
| USDC | 0.5 bp / 0.005% |
| cirBTC backing | 1:1 with BTC |

The design supports payouts and very small payments
A payment provider could receive EURC on Base, keep one Gateway balance and pay a recipient on Solana without maintaining a separate large reserve there. Nanopayments can be collected off-chain and settled in a batch, reducing per-payment gas but not removing the gas cost of final settlement.
Circle also published a new EURC Solana pre-mint address: A6sLLUWebvoUUnQoCiB45ktetd34iamfD8kwTsBSReAb. It is an operational address, not a destination for customer funds. Developers must still follow Circle’s terms, supported-chain list and compliance requirements before integrating the service.
