Investors receive a tokenised fund interest
The structure gives eligible investors tokenised exposure to a feeder vehicle connected to the existing emerging-market bond strategy. It does not turn each underlying government or corporate bond into a separate retail token.

Centrifuge provides the infrastructure for issuance and onchain administration. Schroders remains responsible for the active investment strategy and the decisions inside the portfolio.
Emerging-market debt adds a different risk profile
Most early tokenised funds concentrated on Treasury bills, money-market instruments and other short-duration assets. Emerging-market bonds introduce credit, currency and duration risks that require active research and portfolio management.
That makes the launch a test of whether blockchain distribution can support more complex investment products, not only digital versions of cash.
| Element | Role |
|---|---|
| Schroders | Manages the emerging-market bond strategy |
| Centrifuge | Provides tokenisation infrastructure |
| Solana | Public blockchain used for the initial deployment |
| Investor exposure | Tokenised interest in the fund structure |
Solana supplies the public settlement layer
The product initially launches on Solana, where more than $4 billion in real-world asset value is already represented onchain, according to Centrifuge. Investors can hold the fund interest in compatible digital wallets and interact with approved infrastructure.
The launch does not guarantee direct demand for the SOL token beyond transaction fees. Fund subscriptions, redemptions and eligibility rules remain separate from open cryptocurrency trading.

Liquidity and access will determine the practical impact
The announcement was made on 4 November. The size of the new tokenised share class and its initial investor base were not disclosed.
The useful measure will be whether institutions use the product for allocation, collateral or settlement. A technically live token is only the first step; repeat activity will show whether the model improves distribution.
