JPYSC already has a defined issuer
JPYSC launched on 24 June 2026 as a yen-denominated stablecoin. SBI Shinsei Trust & Banking is its issuer. The new memorandum does not change that role and does not mean that integration with BlackRock products is already available.

A tokenized money-market fund represents an investment product on digital infrastructure. A stablecoin is designed to transfer value. The research will examine a possible connection between tokenized funds and JPYSC.
The research covers technology, distribution and compliance
The memorandum identifies three broad work areas: technology, distribution and compliance. Technology covers a possible link between tokenized funds and JPYSC. Distribution covers ways to make the service available. Compliance covers the financial rules that a future service would have to meet.
The partners will also study how payments are processed and how a transfer recorded in the blockchain can connect with a tokenized investment product.
The document does not specify an identity-check procedure, a timetable for processing payments or a method for matching the operating hours of different products. Those details would require separate rules before any commercial launch.
| Part of the study | What the partners will examine |
|---|---|
| Technology | A possible technical link between tokenized funds and JPYSC |
| Distribution | Ways to make a future service available |
| Financial rules | Compliance with Japanese requirements |
The memorandum has no product launch date
Japan has specific rules for stablecoins, so any commercial service must meet legal and operational requirements before launch. The memorandum creates a framework for research and does not announce final approvals.
The participants have not published operating terms, supported networks, access rules or a launch date for the integration. It therefore remains a possible connection under study.
