The complaint focuses on local activity
The Thai SEC says Bitget offered a trading system, charged fees and promoted its services to Thai users through a local-language website and social-media channels. The complaint also names one alleged supporter of the activity.

A criminal complaint is the start of an enforcement process, not a final court judgment. The Economic Crime Suppression Division will consider the evidence and decide the next procedural steps.
The blocking date gives users a limited window
The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society has been notified to block access from 5 December 2026. The SEC advised users to consider how to protect assets held on the platform before that date.
A website block does not automatically settle every account or transfer. Users need to check withdrawal availability, destination addresses and any identity requirements directly through official platform channels.

The case shows the importance of local authorisation
The SEC announced the action on 5 November. It stressed that customers of an unlicensed operator do not receive the same protections available under Thailand’s regulated digital-asset framework.
For investors, the practical lesson is to verify a platform on the regulator’s licensed-operator list before depositing funds. A large international brand can still face restrictions in a country where it has not completed the required registration.

Users need to separate access risk from asset ownership
A national website block can make the normal login route unavailable without changing the blockchain record of a user’s coins. The immediate practical questions are whether withdrawals are open, which networks are supported and whether the destination wallet is controlled by the user.
Any transfer should begin with a check of the network and address format. Sending an asset through an unsupported chain can create a separate loss that has nothing to do with the regulator’s action. Users should also keep official transaction records and avoid links sent by unknown accounts claiming to offer a special withdrawal route.
The complaint and the planned blocking date are confirmed by the Thai SEC. Claims about the final criminal outcome, compensation or the platform’s future status remain premature until investigators and the courts complete the next stages. That distinction prevents a regulatory notice from being presented as a finished judgment.
